Raven Thomas

Program Director, Elite Teams Coordinator, 23/24 Elite Coach

Coach Raven played at Erskine College, where she was named Erskine’s Fleety Athlete of the Year, a two-time captain, Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, and was twice recognized on the Academic All-Conference Team. She is the Varsity Head Coach at Chapin and coaches the SC National Team, where she has led the team to division victory the past two National tournaments. In high school, Raven served as team captain for 2 years and was named a USLacrosse Academic All-American. Raven is headed into her 9th season with the Rapids.

Morgan Logue, 23/24 Elite Coach

Coach Morgan played at Lynchburg College, where she was captain. There, she was named 1st team all ODAC, IWLCA regional All-American and USA College Lacrosse All-American. After college she was head coach for St. Charles and True Illinois Lacrosse and assistant coach at Lynchburg College and Aurora University. She's currently the assistant Varsity coach at River Bluff.

Kathleen Mirgon

Kathleen Mirgon, 25/26 Elite Coach

Coach Kath played at Shippensburg University, where she was a 3-time IWLCA Academic Honor Roll nominee and a PSAC Scholar Athlete. She is currently the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Pfeiffer University and previously was the Assistant Coach at Piedmont University and a graduate assistant at Bloomsburg University. Kathleen has club experience with NXT and Atlanta Storm, along with high school and rec experience. In high school, Kathleen played lacrosse and ran XC/track. She was a 3-time team captain, a 2-time player on the SC National Team, was awarded 1st Team All State, named SCHSL Midfielder of the Year, and USLacrosse All-American. Kathleen is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Angelina Perrone, 25/26 Elite Coach

Coach Angelina played both lacrosse and field hockey at Belmont Abbey College, where she earned Conference Carolinas Player of the Week Honors, Top Assister of the Week Honors, was named to the All-Tournament Team and received other All-Conference Awards. Angelina is currently the Graduate Assistant Coach at Wingate University and previously served as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for Pfeiffer University. She coaches at Ultimate Academy, a developmental program for K-12 athletes. Angelina is excited about the growth of lacrosse in the south and it is her passion to help others grow into their skills and find success on the field. Angelina is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Julia Barbato

Julie Barbato, High School Team Coach

Coach Julia currently plays at Pfeiffer University as an attacker and draw specialist and is team captain. So far in her collegiate career, she has earned 1st Team USA South, USA Player of the Week, and Rookie of the Week Honors. In high school, she was a captain and played for FCA Palm Beach and Wellington Club. Julia is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Emma Fransen, High School Team Coach

Coach Emma played at Piedmont University, where she was a captain and earned USA South First Team All-Conference (2x), USA South All-Academic Team (3x), and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll honors. Emma was named USA South Conference’s Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week 3 times and is the single-season scoring record holder for Piedmont. Emma is currently the Graduate Assistant Coach at Pfeiffer University. She has previous coaching experience with GRIT Lacrosse Club (TX) and Klein Middle School. Emma is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Tim Brink

Tim Brink, 27/28 Elite Coach

Coach Tim played and coached NCAA men's lacrosse at Hofstra University. He is currently the JV Girls Head Coach for Chapin. Tim has club experience coaching for Invasion Girls Lacrosse in SC, as well as Team 91 LI and Bandits teams out of NY. Tim has experience coaching youth lacrosse as well at Millers Place (NY) and Crooked Creek (SC). Tim is headed into his 1st season with the Rapids.

Courtney Dove, 27/28 Elite Coach

Coach Courtney played lacrosse at Reinhardt University. In high school, she played lacrosse at Dutch Fork, where she was named captain. She is currently the JV Head Coach at Dutch Fork. Courtney is headed into her 3rd season with the Rapids.

Grace Williamson Parker

Grace Williamson-Parker, Middle School Coach

Coach Grace currently plays at Pfeiffer University as a defender. She is excited to be joining our coaching staff and to use her college experience to help guide younger players wanting to play at the next level. Outside of lacrosse, she enjoys kickboxing, sailing, hiking, surfing, and fishing. Grace is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Chloe Johnson, Middle School Coach

Coach Chloe currently plays midfield at Pfeiffer University. She is a NCAA dual-athlete, playing both collegiate soccer and lacrosse. Chloe brings the field awareness and drive necessary to succeed for developing players in our program. Chloe is headed into her first season with the Rapids.

Nate McCoy

Youth Development Coordinator, Web Developer, Elementary Coach

Coach McCoy is a USA Lacrosse Level 2 certified coach. McCoy is currently the Varsity Head Coach at Irmo High School. He has coached youth lacrosse at ICRC for several years and previously served as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Dutch Fork. Coach McCoy helped start the Irmo Rec Lacrosse program in 2016 and is headed into his 9th season with the Rapids.

Emily Eckert, Elementary Coach

Coach Emily played lacrosse on the USC Club Team in college. She began her coaching career during undergraduate summers with the CCLax and Bay Area Lacrosse Clubs in Maryland. In high school, she played at Archbishop Spalding and for Hero’s Lacrosse Club. Emily is currently the Assistant Varsity Coach at Dutch Fork. Emily is headed into her 6th season with the Rapids.

Jason Honey

Jason Honey, Goalie Coach

Coach Honey played at Wingate University, where he earned All-Conference and All-American honors. Jason was the women’s lacrosse goalie coach at Erskine College and the former boys coach at Irmo High School. He’s a 3-time award recipient of District Coach of the Year, as well as Lower State Coach of the Year. In high school, Jason was a two-time All-American. Jason is headed into his second season with the Rapids.

Melissa Semkiw, Goalie Coach

Coach Melissa played in goal at George Mason University, where she earned several honors: Atlantic10 All-Rookie Team, First Team All-A10, Second Team All-A10, and Preseason All-A10. Melissa spent her grad year playing and student-coaching at Saint Joseph’s University, where she earned Second Team All-10 and All-Championship Team honors. She is currently the Assistant Coach at Newberry College and has experience as both an official at Western Maryland Lacrosse and a club coach for Victory. Melissa is headed into her 1st season with the Rapids.

Jen Green, Program Coach

Coach Jen was a three-sport athlete, playing lacrosse, field hockey, and basketball in high school in Maryland. She coached at Chapin for 7 years and has been named a SCHSL Coach of the Year three times. In 2019, she led Chapin Girls Lacrosse to the 5A State Championship with an undefeated record. Jen is headed into her 9th season with the Rapids.

Tony Mathis, 23/24 Elite Coach, Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coach T will be starting his 17th season as a girls lacrosse/strength and conditioning coach in 2023. His coaching career began in FL where he coached at Park Vista HS, LaxManiax Club, and SoFla. Tony was instrumental in helping to develop one of South Florida’s most successful girls-only lacrosse tournaments, The Florida Draw. Upon moving to SC 7 years ago, Tony became a volunteer assistant coach at Chapin HS, Summit Lacrosse (Denver, CO), and Rapids. In 2021, Tony became the full time assistant coach at Chapin and was awarded 2022 Lower State Assistant Coach of the Year. It’s been Tony’s honor to have the opportunity to assist over 30 female athletes achieve their dream of playing at the collegiate level-including numerous NCAA appearances and 1 National Championship.
